Joshua’s New Toy

We celebrated Joshua’s 2nd birthday on Monday. I made him one of his favorite foods, shells and cheese, for dinner and we had brownies afterwords. He’ll celebrate with family and friends later this month.
He had fun opening present. Caleb enjoyed it as well. He said, with a big smile on his face and looking at the new Lego train set, “I like Joshua’s birthday!”
This video is of Joshua calling his new truck, Chuck, to him. There are also a few pictures to enjoy.

A Real Haircut

Joshua received his first real haircut at the barber shop this morning. At first I wasn’t sure he was going to sit through it, but the barber quickly settled him down with a sucker. It also helped to have Daddy there holding his hand! I didn’t realize how much hair Joshua actually had until he got it cut. He’s looking super handsome now. Enjoy some pictures from his adventure.

Here’s a lovely prego pic of me, too.

Nursery Rhymes and a Squealing Pig

I love this first video of Caleb “reading” Humpty Dumpty, or Dumpy Dumpy as he likes to say, to us. We have some more footage of him reading the rest of the book to us. I’ll have to work on putting them together for the site.

The second video is of Joshua squealing with joy while spinning in one of the new exhibits at the Children’s Museum. The boys really liked it, but they weren’t strong enough to spin themselves, so I had to get in there with them. I don’t think Flumpy enjoyed it as much. I was super dizzy after spinning them.

A Test Post

So I’m testing this new app that’s supposed to make it easier to blog from one’s iPhone or iPad. We’ll see how it goes…maybe I’ll actually blog more than once month!
We are headed to the mountains today to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. I’m excited. The leaves should be beautiful! Caleb can’t wait to visit the cavern.
Our CD’s should be ready to purchase by the middle of November. I’m sure you’ll hear more about that as November gets closer, but you can be thinking about who you might want to buy some for in the meantime :) !
I’m going to try and upload some pictures. Let’s see how easy that is! But enjoy a few photos from my phone.

Pictures from the beach

I promised I’d get photos up soon, but with the way I post, I bet you didn’t think it would be this quick. Hope you enjoy these pictures from our trip to the beach. There are also a few pictures from earlier in the month for your enjoyment.

The Myrtle Beach Report

We’re back from our trip to the beach. The boys really had a great time. From playing in the sand, to jumping the waves, floating in the crazy river (Caleb’s interpretation of the “lazy river”), relaxing in the hot tub (during the hottest part of the day…the boys are crazy), riding roller coasters, crying because one was too little to ride the go carts (no, it wasn’t Ben), and lets not forget playing with cousins, I don’t think the boys, especially Caleb, were quite ready for our trip to end. I’ll get some photos up here soon, but I wanted to get this video up while it was still fresh. It was taken on our way back from the beach. If you listen closely, you can hear Joshua sing along some. There’s a new feature Ben added a while back under the “pages” section of our blog called video gallery. If you just can’t get enough videos of our boys, you can click that page and check out all the videos we’ve posted to youtube. Have fun!

Finally…

A video to post. Ben has had this video on his phone for a while now. I finally uploaded it to youtube for your enjoyment. Of course this was taken after Caleb had been singing his song for quite some time, but I think that’s how it always goes.

It’s Been Awhile…

I’m going to use the excuse that we’ve been busy, and that’s why I haven’t posted anything in over a month and a half. June was pretty busy for us with birthday parties, baby showers, some surgery for Caleb, some eye surgery for Joshua, Doctor’s appointments, and swimming at the water park. The first part of July was busy with a trip to Illinois, Springfield, MO, Oklahoma, and back in a week. The boys were pretty good little travelers, but I think the trip wore us all down. We’ve been taking it pretty easy since. I’ve got a lot of pictures and a few videos to put up. The videos will probably be a separate post, so keep checking back. Oh yeah, I’m pretty sure all the readers of this blog already know, but we are expecting another little one sometime around February 5th. Caleb has named the baby Flump Flumpy for the time being. We’re pretty excited.

Enjoy the pictures.

Memorial Day Weekend

We took the boys up to the DC area on Memorial Day weekend to see their Uncle Jr, Aunt Christy, and Cousin Jada. The boys had a wonderful time. We left Friday afternoon, and arrived Friday night, after driving by some of the memorials and monuments in DC. We visited Baltimore on Saturday and took the kiddos to an awesome Children’s Museum. I think they enjoyed playing. Then we took them home for naps and playing outside in the sprinkler and pool and drawing with chalk. We even made some homemade ice cream in a bag. There are some pictures posted (a few are from earlier in the month) and hopefully a video soon.

I found out today that Joshua’s eye surgery will be on June 30th. I don’t know the time yet, but will let you all know soon. Please keep him (and all of us) in your prayers. Thanks so much!

Caleb is Three!

Caleb celebrated his third birthday this past weekend by having his cousins, friends, aunts, uncles, and grandparents come to his house for a Snap (alligator) themed party. He loved running around the house with his fellow party-goers and playing with all his toys in his room and jumping on his bed. We got him to take a break from playing to eat some pizza and drink some swamp juice, but almost couldn’t keep him from blowing out his candles before we sang “Happy Birthday” to him. We played a few games and then it was time for Caleb’s favorite part- presents! He loved ripping through bags and paper to see what was inside each gift. He had a great time! Enjoy some pictures and a video of his special day!
